A useful Morocco itinerary starts with a few decisions: how much time you have, what you most want to experience and how often you are willing to change accommodation. Settle those first, then build the rest of the trip around them.

This checklist helps you turn a list of places into a journey you can comfortably follow.

Choose your priorities before your destinations#

Write down the two or three experiences that matter most to you. They might be exploring a historic city, spending time by the coast, visiting gardens or adding a guided excursion.

Use those priorities to decide what belongs in your itinerary. A destination that looks appealing in a photograph may still involve a journey you would rather avoid.

For a shorter visit, consider staying in one main base. For a longer trip, add another destination only after checking how you will travel between them.

Count usable days#

Arrival and departure days rarely offer the same freedom as a full day at your destination.

For every change of accommodation, allow time for packing, checking out, reaching the station or meeting point, travelling and finding your next stay. A journey listed as three hours can occupy substantially more of your day once those steps are included.

Mark travel days separately on your itinerary. This makes it easier to see how much time remains for exploring and resting.

Check documents before committing to bookings#

Confirm the entry requirements that apply to your passport nationality, purpose of travel and length of stay. Check with the relevant Moroccan consulate or official application service rather than assuming another traveller’s experience applies to you.

The Moroccan National Tourist Office provides an overview of entry formalities and links to the official application portal. Check Morocco’s official travel information.

Keep your travel documents and booking confirmations accessible during the journey, including copies you can open without mobile data.

Plan the first journey after arrival#

Before departure, decide how you will reach your accommodation from the airport, port or station.

Save the accommodation’s address, map location and contact number. Ask the host whether vehicles can reach the entrance and where you should meet if they cannot.

If you arrange a transfer, confirm the meeting point, total price, luggage allowance and what happens if your arrival is delayed. Keep the confirmation somewhere easy to find.

Book accommodation around the trip you want#

Compare location and access alongside room photographs and price.

Check whether your accommodation suits your arrival time, luggage and planned activities. Review cancellation conditions and ask about anything important to your stay before booking.

For each destination, choose one or two activities you especially want to do. Leave the rest of the day flexible.

Make one final check#

Before you travel, confirm:

  • Your documents and entry arrangements.
  • Accommodation dates and arrival instructions.
  • Transport bookings and departure locations.
  • A way to access maps and confirmations offline.
  • Weather forecasts for every destination on your route.
  • Enough flexibility to adjust plans without rushing.

Keep the itinerary somewhere you can consult quickly. A clear arrival plan and a manageable route give you a useful foundation for everything that follows.
